Happy (belated) Book Birthday to my debut middle grade novel, The Girl in the Window! I can't believe this book has been out in the world for a whole year.

I've had fun connecting with readers, reviewers, librarians, and other writers throughout this last year, and hope to continue to be able to make connections.
Here's one of my favorite review snippets for The Girl in the Window, by kid-reviewer, Laly, from PaigesandLalypops on Instagram!

I don't think I ever got around to sharing pictures from my book launch last year at the Historic Phelps House in Carthage, MO. It was the perfect setting for my spooky story.
I'm thankful to Brook at New View Photography for capturing the event.
If you haven't bought a copy yet, it's available anywhere books are sold online!
So, what's next?
I've begun working on book 2 in the "Izzy Gordon Ghost Adventures" series, BUT another story has taken over my brain and I decided to switch gears and work on it for a while.
This is also a middle grade novel and is tentatively titled THE ORIGINS OF INDY.
It's inspired by this guy:
Our sweet shelter pup we adopted in 2021.
Here's a quick peek at what this story is about:
When a dog shows up on 13 year old Charlie's doorstep wearing a tag with the letters N.D., and a tranquilizer dart in his back leg, Charlie makes the decision to hide him from his pursuers. But when strange things begin to occur around the dog – including sporadic disappearances and mysterious men who will stop at nothing to recover him – cryptid-lover Charlie begins to suspect his four-legged fugitive might be one of the legendary creatures he’s been hunting his whole life. Charlie must decide who he can trust, and to what lengths he's willing to go to protect his friends and the dog he has begun to think of as family.

Does this sound like something your or your kiddos/students would like to read? I hope so! One of my goals for this book is to appeal to the reluctant reader. I already have plans for this to be a series that follows this group of kid cryptid hunters and their pets who are.... unique 😉.
That's all for me this month. I plan to send out project updates, what I'm reading, book reviews, and writing tips/info monthly. If you think this is something you might want to read, please subscribe to my blog!
Happy reading!
❤️ Lindsey
