When twelve-year-old Izzy breaks a window in the creepy house next door, her summer plans suddenly go from playing baseball in the backyard to being thrust into a decades old family drama involving the ghost of a lonely girl who will stop at nothing to have a friend... forever.

This contemporary paranormal mystery is perfect for fans of the THE PECULIAR INCIDENT ON SHADY STREET by Lindsay Currie and THE GIRL IN THE LOCKED ROOM by Mary Downing Hahn.

Caitlin Alexander, author of SHE'S STILL HERE

"Hobson delivers a mesmerizing debut with spooky thrills throughout. When Izzy hits a baseball through the window of the creepiest house in the neighborhood, she's terrified to have to make it right. What she encounters at the home is beyond her wildest dreams-- and includes a ghost with unfinished business."

Literary Titan

The Girl in the Window is a well-crafted children’s chapter book that is sure to captivate the attention of middle-grade readers and young adults. The author delivers a story that is not only entertaining but also infused with meaning, while gradually building suspense as the characters work to uncover the secrets hidden within the old house.

Reader Views Kids

Although I am older than the target audience of 8- to 12-year-olds, I cannot recommend this book enough. Hobson writes perfectly for this genre. It is an appropriate level of dark, spooky, and eerie, and the twists will keep readers of any age engaged.
